About Hope For 100

The first Hope for 100 campaign was launched at Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas in January 2009. The prayer of the Leadership Team for this campaign is to multiply the fruit of this campaign to churches throughout the United States and all over the world!

Mission

Hope for 100 exists to challenge and support local churches to obey God's Word by providing loving, Christian homes for 100 children through adoption or foster care.

Goals

Hope for 100 assists local churches with the practical tools to:

  • Raise awareness of the plight of the fatherless.
  • Issue a specific challenge to the Church to care for a specific number of orphans through adoption and/or foster care.
  • Match interested families with experienced foster and adoptive families for guidance and encouragement.
  • Promote opportunities to serve through an ongoing orphan care ministry.
  • Help provide the necessary funds to families seeking to adopt.

History

Following an adoption of their own, Rocky and Carrie Gill began to realize the biblical importance of caring for vulnerable orphans. As they studied the Bible, it became clear to them that caring for the fatherless is a calling from God for the entire Church. However, it was evident that many churches were lacking an intentional outreach to the orphans of the world.

Several years ago, Rocky served as the Campaign Chairman of the Tyler, TX United Way drive. He began to dream of a similar campaign that would provide necessary resources for the Church to care for orphans.

Early in the process, Rocky began a friendship with Eugene Allison, Founder of ABBA Fund, a ministry that provides financial assistance to Christian couples for adoption and helps local churches establish adoption funds. Rocky and Eugene began to dream together of the great impact the Church in America could have in the life of orphans, and Hope For 100 is the program they developed to carry out this vision.

ABBA Fund is honored to provide leadership and administration for Hope for 100, partnering with churches and providing ongoing coaching and support.
