January 4, 2009 – Hope For 100 Launch Sunday

On the first Sunday in 2009, Green Acres Baptist Church pastor David Dykes will preach about orphans under the topic of "Make a Difference for Christ’s Sake". The following Sunday, Pastor Jerome Milton of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church and the President of the Texas Educational Baptist State Congress will share his personal story of how he was adopted as a young man and the difference it made in his troubled life. Today, Pastor Jerome and his wife have six adopted children of their own. These first two Sundays in January will mark the official launch of Hope For 100, a campaign with the goal of placing 100 orphans and foster children in loving, Christian homes in the Tyler area. After a successful launch, Hope For 100 desires to see its efforts replicated and multiplied in churches throughout the United States.
